Brookside Golf Club, adjacent to Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, joins the Troon family.
Troon was recently selected to manage Brookside Golf Club, a popular 36-hole municipal facility in Pasadena, California. Indigo Sports, a Troon company, will manage the golf operations, agronomy, retail, food and beverage, and sales and marketing.
Located adjacent to the world-famous Rose Bowl in the shadows of the San Gabriel Mountains, Brookside Golf Club is owned by the City of Pasadena and features two of the most in-demand daily fee layouts in Southern California, the C.W. Koiner Golf Course and the E.O. Nay Golf Course.
Designed by famed golf architect William P. Bell, the 36-hole complex is the oldest golf course in Los Angeles County, dating back more than 95 years. Brookside’s C.W. Koiner Golf Course is a 7,104-yard, par-72 layout, while the E.O. Nay Golf Course plays 6,025 yards to a par of 70. Both courses have Bermuda grass fairways, Poanna grass greens and are lined with eucalyptus, pine, and oak trees.
“Very excited to join the team with Troon here at Brookside Golf Club and eager to see what positive changes they can bring to the facility,” said Brookside Golf Club General Manager Scott Scozzola.
The layouts are relatively flat, with the challenge to scoring coming in the form of narrow fairways lined by mature trees, with several lakes and streams traversing the property. Players enjoy the competitive rates and scenic surroundings Brookside has to offer.
The Brookside Restaurant is open daily to the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features views of the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains. The menu includes house-made burgers, flat breads, sandwiches, and salads. Brookside offers a variety of event spaces for weddings, meetings, and parties, including the 250-seat Mediterranean Ballroom and patio, the 60-seat Arroyo Ballroom, and the 30-seat Rose Room.
“We’re excited to partner with the Rose Bowl Operating Company and City of Pasadena to manage Brookside Golf Club,” said Troon Vice President of Operations Tony Marino. “The golf courses and adjacent Rose Bowl are iconic and historic Southern California sports venues. We are honored to help shepherd the future of Brookside.”
