All About Golf

At Coyote Springs Golf Club

By Andrew Penner

Located approximately an hour north of Las Vegas in the heart of the Coyote Spring Valley, Coyote Springs Golf Club serves up the type of “out there” golf experience that has become revered in golfdom. The Jack Nicklaus Signature course (many people consider Coyote Springs his best desert design) features all the Golden Bear’s trademarks: tough-to-hit greens, deep bunkers, big-and-bold contours, risk-reward par-5s, as well as a handful of holes that set up perfectly for his legendary high-fade ball flight.

Certainly, the soaring, sun-baked mountains that envelop the course yield a stunning backdrop throughout. The topography of the course reflects the mountains surrounding Coyote Springs Golf Club and this Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. Highlight holes include the par-5 second, which affords “the gambler” an opportunity to squeeze a hybrid or long-iron approach between a greenside bunker and a pond. It’s one of only a handful of legitimate birdie opportunities on the course.

Coyote Springs Golf Club, a Troon-managed golf course is going full-throttle. “The drive out to this Top 100 Golf Course along Highway 93 is spectacular,” says Director of Operations and General Manager Curt Russell. “But the big payoff is this golf course. There’s nothing else like Coyote Springs Golf Club. One trip out here and you’ll be a fan for life.”
