Team Troon Tracker

major moment

The PGA Tour’s second major is upon us this week, and Team Troon is relying on a strong track record in such events to make some waves in the PGA Championship being played at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

Defending champion Justin Thomas is looking to recapture the magic he displayed during his win last year at Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma. Defending U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick already has one win to his credit this year at the RBC Heritage, while 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland has two career Top-10 PGA Championship finishes to his credit. Despite four rounds in the 60s, Matt Kuchar placed tied for 43rd last week at the AT&T Byron Nelson in Texas. He has compiled four Top-10 finishes at the PGA Championship. Troon investor Rory McIlroy continues the hunt for a third career PGA Championship title and fifth major win overall, while Alex Noren is looking to add to his pair of Top-10 major finishes.

Colin Montgomerie posted his third consecutive in the Top 25 on PGA CHAMPIONS, this time ending up tied for 23rd at the Regions Tradition in Birmingham, Alabama. One reason for his continued good play? Putting. For the week, he came in tied for eighth in “Putts per Greens in Regulation.” Next up is the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, which will be played at the brand new PGA Frisco in Texas.

Yealimi Noh started off strong at the LPGA’s Cognizant Founders Cup at Upper Montclair Country Club in New Jersey with an opening round 69. Unfortunately she could not maintain that momentum and ended up +5 overall in a tie for 57th. She will be back in action in New Jersey in the inaugural Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City.
