Like most people who start their own brewery, Yuseff Cherney loved experimenting with different flavors. As a hobby, he eventually broadened his search from beer to spirits, custom-building his first pot still from an old beer fermenter to distill rum, vodka, gin, whiskey, and more. Today, as founder and master distiller of Cutwater Spirits, part of Anheuser-Busch, Cherney and his team have grown a passion project into an award-winning craft spirits brand. He swiftly pioneered a category with the introduction of Cutwater’s canned classic cocktails that feature tequila, vodka, rum, gin, and whiskey in flavors such as Lime Margarita, Vodka Transfusion, Tiki Rum Mai Tai, Gin & Tonic, and Whiskey Mule. As for Cherney, you can still find him at Cutwater’s production facility in San Diego focused on perfecting recipes for the company’s ever-expanding range of exceptional spirits and canned cocktail offerings.
